We get it and want to remove that pressure; it’s okay if you don’t immediately become an expert at all things sex magically; it’s okay if the first time it lasts only a few minutes and if it’s not a perfect night. 1. Talk about it!
Share your expectations with your soon-to-be spouse. Share your desires, worries, all of it! Also, discuss whether you will use a form of birth control or not and what that might look like.
2. Research lube and condoms (if that’s something you’ll be using).
Not all are created equal! Most have ingredients that can cause irritations and potentially even stinging or pain. Research before you buy and look for one that is water-based and free of parabens, glycerin, and fragrance.
3. Prepare your body and pelvic floor muscles!
Try different stretches like child’s pose and hip mobility exercises in the coming weeks or days before your honeymoon. These will help strengthen and prepare your pelvic floor muscles and help make sex more enjoyable.
