4th of July | Date Night Ideas

Struggling to make epic plans for this holiday weekend? Don’t worry; I’ve got you! Here are a few things that will make you and your spouse want to Indepen-DANCE. 🇺🇸💃🏼

  1. Bake a Patriotic Dessert

Celebrate your freedom by baking all the desserts you want.  A red, white, and blue cupcake, apple pie, blueberry cobbler (my personal favorite), or even a fruit pizza made to look like “old glory.” The possibilities and calories are endless on the 4th.

  2. Get Outside

Find a new hiking spot, go on a bike ride, rent a pontoon boat, or go to a parade. The 4th is the best day to be outside in the community, enjoying the nice weather, family, and friends. Bonus points if you deck out your ride to let everyone know you’re proud to be an American.

  3. Picnic in the Park

Blues festivals, concerts in the park, and of course fireworks; there are so many opportunities for a beautiful picnic. Pack your favorite snacks and surprise your sweetie with something you know they will love to snack on. Do this right and, it’s sure to set off fireworks between you and your spouse.

  4.  See a Drive-in Movie or Create Your Own

A cozy night of classic movies, does it get any more romantic than that? Grab your honey and TONS of snacks, and take it back to classic Americana with a Drive-In. Don’t have one local to you? No problem, a little popcorn with red, white, and blue M&Ms, and a fort built in the living room or backyard will do just the trick.

  5. 4th Thrift Store Challenge

Who doesn’t love a good challenge and an ugly eagle in the clouds t-shirt?? Head to the thrift store and pick each other out the tackiest 4th of July outfit you can find. Make sure to take pictures and tag @xomarriage so we can see all your patriotic pics!

No matter what you do this Independence Day, have fun, and don’t forget to make memories with the ones you love.
