Hey everybody. This is Brent Evans, CEO of XO Marriage, here at the brand new XO Marriage center. This is in Southlake, Texas, the marriage capital of the world. We are excited about what’s happening. You’ll see behind me, there’s a lot going on. It’s really cool to give you an update of what’s going on. I’m going to be trying to give you regular updates as we get closer to move in.
You might not know that we’ve been around for almost 30 years, and it’s been MarriageToday and XO Marriage for almost 30 years, but we’ve never actually had a permanent home. We’ve always had to be in leases or renting, but now, this is the permanent home of XO Marriage, and we are so excited to be able to share this with you.
Going on behind me, we’ve actually poured the second and third floors. So we have every floor accounted for. And they’re also putting in some electrical. We’re going to be finishing the roof this week. And they’re putting in some plumbing as well to the building. So a lot’s happening technically with the building.
But what you may not know is our team has been a part of this project from the very beginning in a spiritual way as well. So we prayed over this land. We prayed over this building. We actually put a physical Bible in the foundation of this building because we believe that marriage should be built on a biblical foundation, but also, this building, we wanted to be built upon the word of God.
We had our XO friends and family out to sign steel and to sign the structure of the building. So we actually have prayers from friends and family that are going to be part of this building infrastructure as well. And we’re just consistently trying to do everything that we can to prepare for the ministry. That’s going to be happening inside these walls. We’re going to have a drywall signing in October.
So you’re going to want to subscribe to our YouTube channel, our Instagram accounts, our Facebook accounts because we’ll be announcing that coming up for those of who want to be a part of it. So you can actually come on site with your family. You can sign the walls, put a scripture, put a prayer. But if you’re a part of this project, I encourage you to be part of that date.
For those who don’t know, what’s going to actually be happening inside the building, we will be ministering in so many different ways. We will have one-on-one mediations happening on site. So we’ll be bringing couples in. You can’t see, but behind this camera is the Westin Hotel. We can have people come in, stay at the Westin, walk right over here, and they’ll be on site here at the XO Marriage center with our mediators.
We’ll also have a podcast studio, state-of-the art podcast studio. David and Ashley Willis have the number one Christian marriage podcast in America. They’ll be recording on site. We’ll have a glass wall. So people who are fans of the show can actually see Dave and Ashley record that. Including my parents, Jimmy and Karen Evans will have other great content contributors doing podcasts in the buildings. That’s going to all be happening on the first floor here.
We also have a teaching space. So we’ll be bringing in pastors, counselors, mediators to bring them in and certified them on how to do ministry God’s way.
Because of where it sits on the land, you can actually see the building from highway 114. So those people, it’s a very, very highly trafficked area. Is going to be a powerful statement about what we believe in, which is marriage still works, especially if do it God’s way.
If you’ve given to the project, if you’re a part of this project, you’re going to be excited to know that we’re starting to see the walk of champions take shape. That’s for people who have given $1,000 or more to the project. Also, we’ve been designing the wall of champions, which will be going in the first floor for those who have given $10,000 or more. So that’s all taking shape. You still have an opportunity to be part of that if you’ve not given to the project.
My prayer is that we pay cash for this building. And we’re about halfway to our goal. I’m encouraging you to be prayerful with your family, with your spouse, about giving to the project. We still believe that we can pay cash for this building, and that would be a great milestone for us as a ministry to move into the building debt free. This building will be here until Jesus comes back, producing relevant content for each generation, making it available to them, and not giving up any ground when it comes to biblical content. So that’s what we believe.
If you want to be part of this project, no gift is too small, no gift is too large, just be prayerful about being a part of it. Honestly, anything helps.
