5 Gifts Your Wife Will Love

Share:

Christmas is right around the corner and with all the decorating, festivities, and gifts we have to purchase for our kids, friends, and other family members, we can sometimes find ourselves at a loss of what our spouse would actually like for Christmas. And, if we’ve been married for a long time, it’s even harder to think of something unique. So, husbands, today is your day! Here are some gifts that your wife would love to receive this Christmas (in no particular order):

  1. A Pre-Planned Date Calendar

Okay, this one is so fun, and it is something that you and your wife can enjoy all year long. Buy a beautiful calendar and mark one day each month when the two of you will go on a date. Then, secure a sitter for each of those dates. If you don’t have one, ask the people who work the childcare at your church or go to your neighborhood website or sites like Care.com. Then, plan the dates! Find a concert near you and get tickets in advance to include as part of the gift. Make a reservation at her favorite restaurant and include a business card or matchbox from the place as part of the present. Be creative. Book some ballroom dance lessons. Make a couple of the dates overnight at a local hotel. Go somewhere and do something you’ve never done before like indoor skydiving or boating. You can even make the date nights have a theme where the two of you dress up as specific characters and go out on the town. Have fun with it! Every date doesn’t need to be extravagant or expensive. Just the fact that you put a lot of thought and planning into this will mean the world to her, and the two of you will have so much to look forward to in the coming months.

  2. A Custom-Designed Piece of Jewelry

This is one of the more expensive gift options, but it will also be a special keepsake that she will cherish in the years to come. Whether your wife likes gold, silver, platinum, or costume jewelry (like Plunderdesign.com), you can go to your local jeweler, jewelry consultant, or online custom jewelry site and design a piece that she will love. If you are not sure what kind of jewelry she likes, you can always bring one of her favorite pieces that she currently likes to wear to the jeweler or you can ask her mother or sister about her jewelry style. Make it your aim to design a piece that has significance such as including the same number of stones as the number of people in your family. You can even inscribe her favorite Bible verse or a short and sweet message from you on the inside of the piece. When you go to the jeweler/consultant with a specific budget in mind, they can show you lots of different options for necklaces, rings, earrings, or bracelets. You may even want to get a set. Whatever you decide, try to include gemstones, finishes, and styles that you know she likes. When she unwraps this very specially designed gift from you on Christmas morning, she will feel so special.

  3. A Membership

I love this idea! The best gifts are ones that you can enjoy year-round. Think about your wife’s interests. If it is clothes, get her a year-long membership to a styling service like Stitchfix.com. If it’s working out, get her a membership to the newest gym in town, or if she is already a member, get her a membership to Fabletics.com where she will receive new workout clothes each month. If she’s a foodie and likes to cook, get her a membership to hellofresh.com so she can put together delicious meals like a pro. Whatever her interest might be, I bet you can find a delivery/membership service for it. She won’t just receive this gift on Christmas; she will anxiously anticipate receiving this gift every month. How cool is that?

  4.  Spa Experience

I don’t know many women who don’t like to be pampered once in a while, but most women won’t spend that kind of money on themselves. Husbands, Christmas is a great opportunity for you to pamper your wife and show her how much you appreciate and love her. Google spa places in your area and read reviews to find the one that suits your wife best. Then, go to the spa location, talk to the staff, and purchase a spa package for her. You can choose the treatments that you think she would like best such as a massage, facial, manicure, pedicure, mud bath, etc. Better yet, purchase two packages so she can bring her sister, mom, or friend along. Spa treatments often take some time, so it’s nice to have a friend to talk to. Then, have the spa staff wrap up the gift certificate really pretty, and include some nice soaps and lotions in the gift bag as well. She will love it!

  5. Getaway

With the busyness of life, one of the greatest gifts we can give our spouse is some time away with us. This one takes some advanced planning and overnight childcare (if you have kids), but a getaway together will breathe new life into your spouse and marriage. If your wife loves the outdoors, plan a hiking trip within a couple hours of where you live. Plan two nights away in a chalet and hike those beautiful trails together. If she loves the ocean, take her to the closest ocean near you for a few days. Get a hotel room that is right on the ocean and walk on the beach hand in hand every night. If there is a certain place that she has always wanted to visit or a conference she has always wanted to attend, do your best to plan a trip and take her there. She will be moved by your willingness to invest in this special experience with her, and the two of you will grow closer through the whole experience.

Whether you decide to give your wife one of the gifts on this list or something else, be sure to put a lot of thought into it. Just like the age-old saying goes, “It really is the thought that counts.” Give your wife a gift that shows her your love, commitment, and appreciation. When you choose a gift for her based on those three important things, you can’t go wrong.

Merry Christmas, Friends! May God richly bless you and your family this season and beyond!
